Training content on Rat Terrier Advice is general and positive-reinforcement based. It is not a substitute for working with a certified dog trainer, especially when serious behavior is involved.

Please contact a certified positive-reinforcement trainer or veterinary behaviorist if your dog shows:

Aggression toward people, dogs, or other animals
Severe fear, panic, or separation distress
Resource guarding that risks a bite
Bite history of any severity
Reactivity that is escalating or unsafe to manage at home

Look for credentials such as CCPDT-KA / CCPDT-KSA, IAABC, KPA-CTP, VSA, or veterinary behaviorist (Dip. ACVB). We do not endorse trainers who lead with punishment, intimidation, or shock collars.
